Boys

Oliver GCHP CH Painted Mountain Oliver Twist of Fate, ROM
Oliver was a very special boy, a once in a lifetime dog. We're very proud of his accomplishments and have been blessed to have this extraordinary dog in our lives for eleven years. He's the cornerstone of our breeding program and we are now breeding him (from frozen semen), his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Oliver entered the show ring at 6 months of age and earned his Championship at just 11 months of age. He went on to win his bronze, silver, and gold Grand Championships and, in 2013, he became the first and and still only one of two Swissies to attain the Platinum (highest) level Grand Championship.
Oliver finished as the #1 Swissy in America in 2013 and 2012. He finished #3 in 2011, and 2010. He's won multiple group placements, including many Group 1's, and has won multiple specialty shows. He's broken all records for the breed by earning more breed points in a single year than any other Swissy in history and still holds the record for the breeed. Oliver won Best-of-Breed at the Westminster Dog Show in 2011, won the Top 20 Award at the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog National Specialty in 2012, and won the Top 20 People's Choice Award at the National Specialty in 2013.
Structure and Movement
Oliver was a very sound, solid, drafty dog with great bone and substance. He had a virtually perfect front, beautiful loping shoulders, broad muscular thighs, and a large, wide head. His movement was flawless. Oliver's outstanding structure gaves him tremendous reach and drive and he could cover a lot of ground smoothly, effortlessly, and with a solid level topline.
Oliver Progeny
Oliver earned his fame in the show ring, but his greatest achievement is in the puppies he's sired. He has well over 150 little Olivers across the country who range in age from 8 months to 9 years of age with an exceptional record of health among his progeny. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are now being used by breeders across the countruy.
Life with Oliver
Oliver was … all about Oliver! That’s what he’d tell you. He’s definitely not your laid-back Swissy. His personality is best described as "robust". He was a very bold, outgoing, and in-your-face swissy. He had good doggie manners and liked to play with other dogs, large and small. His people manners are not so good. He often intimidated people by greeting them with a a big Swissy BAROO. Those who didn't back away find that all he wanted was to be petted. He demanded petting and attention by barking and giving people a head butt. (Yes, I know, we shouldn't have allowed it, but his exuberance was just part of who he was and what we loved about him). At the end of the day, Oliver was a big cuddle pup and just loved to be hugged. When children are climbing all over him, he's was a very happy dog.
Oliver craved ACTION! He was extremely active, athletic, and spirited. He had no fear of anything and greeted every new adventure with confidence and gusto. Oliver loved swimming, running, carting, pack hiking, agility, and romping with other dogs. He also excelled at surfing... counter-surfing that is! His robust personality energized our lives and his endless mischievous antics provided a constant source of entertainment for us. He was an extremely smart and cunning canine... we would wake up everyday wondering... "Can we outsmart Oliver today!".
Life with Oliver was a thrill a minute... he was just so much fun. He was a once-in-a-lifetime dog and we're so thankful to his breeder, Lisa Simonsen of Painted Mountain Swissies, for giving us the privilege to be owned by Oliver.
