The Birds 'n Bees! We've named this litter after signs of spring... "The Birds 'n Bees"! We've nicknamed each of them after the name of a bird or a bee and will ask their new families to include the name of a bird or a bee in their AKC registered names.

Two Week Puppy Update
Puppies were two weeks old on April 29th. Two weeks is a major milestone for us because it's very common to lose a puppy during the first two weeks of life. Thankfully, all of the Birds 'n Bees are healthy and thriving!
The puppies are all between 2-3 pounds now. The four little puppies who were born weighing only 7-8 ounces are quickly catching up to the five big puppies who were born weighing 18-22 ounces. In fact, the biggest puppy in the litter right now at 3 pounds and one ounce is one of the little puppies who was born at only 7 ounces. Amazing! |

We're BIG Dogs Now!
The puppies have outgrown their little velcro collars and have graduated to BIG DOG collars. With the collar change, we had to make some color adjustments. (Yes, we know... it's difficult to distingish among the red, pink, and orange collars.)
Hello World!
The puppies' eyes have opened and they're getting their first glimpse of the world. When puppies' eyes open, their ears also open so we've begun playing CDs with all kinds of "Sounds for Hounds" to get them accustomed to sounds that we can't create at home. The puppies receive constant stimuli... if the CDs aren't playing they're listening to the TV. |
First Steps!
The babies are starting to take their first steps. They're a little wobbly now, but will be running around and climbing out of their whelping pen in another week.
