Koda is an 18 month old male from our "Birds 'n Bees" litter, born April 20, 2020. He was returned to us in March 2021 due to conflict with another dog in his home and jealousy of attention given to children. He's a big, handsome, and very loving boy who aspires to be an only dog!
Koda's perfect home will be one where there are no other dogs and no children. Although he loves to play with other dogs and gets along well with them most of the time, he doesn't want to live with them. He becomes jealous when his people give attention to another dog or children. His jealousy in this regard is his only behavior issue. He's house trained, doesn't chew household objects, knows basic commands, is very smart, and eager to learn.
As a young puppy, Koda ingested a foreign object which required surgery to remove. During the surgery, a gastroplexy was also performed. We recommend that all swissies have a gastroplexy, ordinarily between 2-3 years of age, so it's good that Koda has already had this procedure to protect him from bloat/torsion. Koda is microchipped, current on his immunizations, and will be neutered this October.
Koda has a slight limp on his right front leg due to an unnecessary surgery on his elbow before he was returned to us. The limp is most noticeable when he first gets up but doesn't impede his activity in any way. He's very athletic and runs like the wind!
Koda will thrive in a home with experienced owners, no other dogs, no children and an owner who has time to give him the love and attention he craves. Initially, he will go to his forever home on a trial basis so his new owners must live relatively near to us.
