The Birds 'n Bees! We've named this litter after signs of spring... "The Birds 'n Bees"! We've nicknamed each of them after the name of a bird or a bee and will ask their new families to include the name of a bird or a bee in their AKC registered names.

Puppy Visitors Welcome!
Puppies will be happy to play with visitors any Saturday or Sunday beginning on Saturday, May 16th. Puppy play times will be outdoors with one family of visitors at a time so visits must be scheduled in advance. All visitors are asked to take their temperature before leaving home to help insure no signs of illness and to bring hand sanitizer to use before and after handling puppies. Social distancing will be observed between visiting families and ourselves. Play dates will have to be cancelled in the event of rain.

Three Week Puppy Update
Puppies were three weeks old on May 6th. They are all right around 4 pounds now and are a beautiful litter of healthy, happy puppies. One little girl is still a few ounces behind the rest of the pack but she's catching up fast.
Happy Mother's Day to Rainey!
Rainey is an excellent mother for her nine babies. It's really exhausting for a mama dog to produce enough milk to feed nine hungry puppies every four hours. She'll get some help during the next week as puppies begin to eat puppy food. Meanwhile, we'll be sure to give Rainey a special Mother's Day treat!
We never leave the babies with Rainey unattended because she could easily lay or step on one of them (mothers are not very careful.) But we like to leave the puppies with her as much as possible while we stand guard. She loves her babies and is the best teacher the puppies will ever have. |
The Great Escape!
Don't be fooled by these innocent looking little puppy faces. They're meeting at the opening of the whelping box to plan their great escape!
The puppies have been in their whelping pen in our master bedroom but now they want to start exploring so it's time for them to move on. We'll be transforming our family room into puppyville this weekend to give the puppies a play area with more objects to explore. |
We're BIG Dogs Now - We Can Walk!
All the puppies are sitting up now and are practicing their walking skills.
